StockBot

Overview

StockBot retrieves stock quotes from Yahoo™, and can maintain a portfolio of stock symbols that you are tracking. Each stock quote is displayed with a hyperlinked ticker symbol that points to a detailed web page for that stock.

Type the bot's name for a summary of all of the available commands:

The list, add, and remove commands can be used to manage your portfolio. The portfolio is simply a list of ticker symbols that you are interested in. There can be at most 10 ticker symbols in your portfolio. The following example illustrates how to initially populate your portfolio:

Once your portfolio is populated, you can obtain quotes for all of the stocks within it by simply typing the bot's name. Each quote consists of the ticker symbol, the latest price, the price change since the last market close, and the price range for the day. The current price and price change are displayed in green if the stock has gone up, red if it has gone down, and black if it is unchanged. Each ticker symbol is also hyperlinked to a web page with detailed information on that stock.

It is also possible to fetch stock quotes for one or more ticker symbols that are not in your portfolio. This can be done with the get command. Simply list up to 10 ticker symbols to fetch:
